BlackBerry World Edition 8830 Dual Mode CDMA and GSM roaming
The world phone empowers the business user to travel wherever roaming exists worldwide .In countries where a CDMA roaming partner exists, the BlackBerry World Edition 8830 will latch on to the CDMA network and in other places the BlackBerry World Edition 8830 will latch on to a GSM partner network ensuring, the business user is connected any time ,anywhere.
The BlackBerry World Edition 8830 will have a GSM SIM card provided at the time of purchase. There will be a single number for both CDMA and GSM network. .
Activation of the SIM Card will be as per the applicable norm for CDMA International Roaming. A deposit will be applicable as per the customer category.
You have the choice of getting the SIM activated or calling Reliance customer care at 30336363 for activation of International Roaming by quoting the SIM number (printed on the SIM).

Post International Roaming activation request given to the customer care – the customer needs to download the preferred roaming list ( PRL ) on your handset by sending “PRL“ as an SMS to 53733 and then dialing *228. This process will enable the customers to roam on CDMA partner networks. Please note PRL should be downloaded at least 24 hours before departure. |

- Go to Applications (BlackBerry icon) on your main screen of your BlackBerry World Edition 8830..
- Then go to Options in the menu
- Select mobile network
- Go to Network mode
- Select 1X EV.
The World Phone will work with Verizon network in the USA. In the USA only CDMA 1xEV can be selected.
How will the BlackBerry World Edition 8830 work in Europe? – In countries such as Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, etc .
- Go to Applications (BlackBerry icon) on your main screen of your BlackBerry World Edition 8830..
- Then go to Options in the menu
- Select mobile network
- Go to Network mode
- Select GSM.
Please ensure that a capital GPRS appears. In case a lower case gprs appears, the BlackBerry World Edition 8830 will be on voice roaming only and an appropriate data roaming partner needs to be selected to manually enable email.

- Then go to Options in the menu
- Select mobile network
